This alarmingly outdated 14th edition belongs in the remainder bin, and nowhere else. Buy the 16th edition.

P.S.I am happy to report that Mr. Poynter, after reading and responding to this review, stopped publishing this edition.

The book is written in an easy and direct way to the readers in general. Its simple and yet profound expression and articulation is attractive to the reader.

It is written with a view to enlighten the author/writer with the intention of setting him on the right path.

It is suitable to adolescent and the youth as well and to the mature adults. Its exposition delineates the theme of the book enlivening the subject. The book is very handy and helpful to even new writers in their growing years.
There are several Books dealing with personal problems. However, they do not tackle the issue in an easy and direct way as this. The book is more personal in nature. It is down to earth in dealing with the subject. It deals with a subject that is very relevant to our day and relevant to the way one who wants to venture into writing and publishing

How on earth can you write a book on self-publishing and not have a Kindle version of the book available? If an author misses this segment of the publishing business then what else is he missing? This book also appears to largely ignore the ebook side of self-publishing, which is the fastest growing side of the publishing business.

Dan Poynter has a 2nd vol. of this book that apparently does address ebooks in more depth, but he is charging $15 for the Kindle version and $10 for the print version. This tells me that this guy doesn’t have a clue when it comes to ebooks.

I’d recommend Print-on-Demand Book Publishing: A New Approach To Printing And Marketing Books For Publishers And Self-Publishing Authors by Morris Rosenthal. The Kindle version is only $2, the print version is $14, and it’s gotten good reviews.

I think it is a good starting point for someone interested in publishing.
